Diseased Rockfish

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Near Cobb Island

We caught this fish in the Potomac near Cobb Island Saturday, 12/12/2015. The fish is covered in some sort of disease. The pictures don't show the disease very well. After some googling, I think it may be Lymphocystis Disease - Iridovirus. Your thoughts?

DNR Response: It's impossible to say precisely what the disease might be without proper diagnostics, though the photos are quite good. Many diseases present in the same manner - skin/ scale loss and skin lesions. Fish have been diagnosed with several bacterial and viral diseases in the Chesapeake Bay over the years.
