After Christmas Light Tackle Action

I took advantage of the warm December weather and took my boys out for a day of light tackle fresh water action on the 27th at Schumaker Pond (Salisbury, MD).

In addition to over 20 crappie and several nice largemounth, my youngest son Jonah, sat in the front of my kayak for the day. The crowning moment of the trip was his quick sighting of a predator swirling the water near the shallow bank with breaking bait all around.

Jonah stood up in the kayak, made one solid cast to the swirl and came up with his first chain pickerel completely unassisted. Very proud of this little boy.
