4lb. White Shad (American Shad)

My friend Mr. Curt and I went to see if the Shad were on the run last week on the Big Gunpowder location on Jones Rd. It was my first time Shad fishing (recently moved to MD. from the Midwest) and this White Shad was the first one I caught in MD. We pulled him out of the water, took a quick picture, and put him back in the stream. Curt has been fishing this portion of the Gunpowder for 40+ years, and said this was the first time he ever saw anyone pull a White Shad from the stream! We caught/released quite a few Hickory Shad up above the falls at the bend in the stream, and overall it was a good day. Hopefully they will be running in full force this week!
