If we can weather this weeks storm and have it warm up a bit, cold weather carp fishing can be a viable option during mild winters. My friend Bob Elias and I recently fished nearby Lake Marburg, near Hanover, Pennsylvania for some mid-winter giants. We used corn and wax worms along with European bite-alarm systems to catch our fish. These tactics may well work on many other local waters that have yet to skim or freeze over. Even in the chilly 42 degree water, these big fish can put up an excellent fight. Big fish opportunities are just about everywhere in our state.
