After church this morning I took the opportunity to take out the kayak on such a wonderful day. I was on Lake Lariat for a couple of hours and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Fishing was slow but I did manage to catch a couple of bluegills, each about 7 or 8 inches long, as well as a couple of largemouth. All were released to swim again. I was using a small green and white Arkie tube jig on a 1/32 oz jig. I was also privileged to watch a white-tailed deer swim across the lake. I heard it come down to the waterline opposite of where I was and she subsequently swam across about 80 yards a head of where I was. My picture doesn't do it justice, but it was a fantastic sight to see.
