Trout stocking in southern Maryland is underway! Recently, Southern Region biologists stocked the pond at Governor Bridge Natural Area, a Maryland-National Capitol Park and Planning Commission pond located in Bowie, MD with 300 rainbow trout raised at Manning Hatchery, Cedarville, MD. Soft, muddy conditions required a little ingenuity, so a UTV was used to transfer fish from our hauling tank to the pond. The pond at Governor Bridge offers a quality fishing experience for anglers looking to combat cabin fever.
