Hickory Shad at Fletcher's

I had a blast catching shad on a fly rod (4/8/16). If not for the fact that the sun went down, I would have stayed out several more hours. I felt like a little kid saying to myself, OK just one last fish; then after catching one, repeating the same words. Amidst the shad action, I pulled in a "well proportioned" crappie. The larger fish were in the bottom third of the water column.
