Hickory Shad at Chain Bridge

I just got back from a fishing trip near Chain Bridge on the Potomac River. I was fishing for Hickory Shad with a 5 wt fly rod and had a good day in spite of slow fishing. I caught 5 fish, including a fat one that fried the drag on my fly reel. Compared to Rainbow Trout these fish are incredibly strong fighters. Fishing may improve-I have heard of anglers catching up to 30 of these fish in one day.
