Hickory Shad Running in Deer Creek

My son and I caught our first hickory shad in Deer Creek. There were lots of fish, both herring and shad, but we only caught five hickories which I think is because the water was still cold. A few more days of sunshine should really get them moving. In addition to the fish we saw deer, numerous eagles, herons, ospreys, pileated woodpeckers, and a fox.
