Pickerel and Panfish in Smithville Lake

I had a beautiful Sunday morning on Smithville Lake. The action was non-stop once a line was in the water. I caught predominatey black crappies; more than 50 were caught, only 1 of which exceeded 12�. I also caught 4 chain pickerel, with two larger than 20�, 5 bluegill, including a 9.5� "dinner plate" bluegill, and a 10.5� redear sunfish. All fish were caught on a 1/16 oz. and 1/32 ounce jig with a 2� or 1� Berkely gulp minnow under a bobber. It was a great day to be on the water and all fish were released to fight another day.
