Youth Angler Catches Trophy Striped Bass

Ryley (9 years old) first got hooked on striper fishing thanks in large part to the Maryland Youth Fishing Club and the Diamond Jim tournament tagging. Since then he has made sure we book a spring trophy trip with Wound Tight Charters out of Chesapeake Beach. We headed out at 11:30 for an afternoon charter and by 12:30 we had five fish in the boat! The mid-day bite wasn’t just hot it was on FIRE! We had our limit of seven by 2:00 and then had to release three more as we were reeling in the lines to head back. Ryley landed his personal best striper at 40.5 inches!
