Trout Stocking by Railroad-North Branch Potomac

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Service worked cooperatively with CSX Railroad to stock 2,000 rainbow trout throughout the entire length of the Delayed Harvest Trout Fishing Area adjoining Potomac State Forest. Anglers should be aware that the Lostland Run Road access area is closed throughout the season in order to make necessary road repairs, and should be re-opened by next spring. The Laurel Run Road and Wallman Road still provide angler access, and the majority of the trout were stocked from Laurel Run to the upper boundary upstream of Wallman. A total of 5,000 rainbow trout have been stocked in this management this spring, so the fishing should be good!
