Sea lamprey

Type: Nontidal
Region: Sourthern
Location: St. Mary's Lake

Angler sent in pictures of a sea lamprey caught in St. Marys Lake. This is a native fish of Maryland that moves into freshwater to spawn. It is not considered a threat to the fisheries of Maryland, though it has caused problems in the Great Lakes where it invaded.
