Susquehanna Flats Second Season Stripers

The water temps stayed cool on the Flats this year well into the month of May. We had 64 to 66 degree surface temps in the afternoon. Tim Burnum and Chris Duffy joined me for one more 2016 Flats trip. The idea was to have some fun catching and releasing striped bass with the expectation to bring home one fish each for the table. Our day was just what the doctor ordered - mostly clear skies, lots of action and striped bass on the menu. We must have caught and released over 50 stripers including 8 over 20 inches, 5 of which went back in the water. Of note are the 2 channel cats which ate plastic lures as soon as they hit the water! Fun times with good fishing buddies.
