Blenny at Bill Burton Pier

Type: Tidal
Region: Eastern
Location: Bill Burton Pier, Choptank River

Hi DNR, I was fishing with my dad Ron on July 19th at theold Route 50 bridge -Bill Burton Fishing Pier- (the southern half/ shorter span) . We caught an assortment of small spot, perch and rockfish, and dozens of toadfish ,along with this small fish. What is it? I've attached a photo. It's color is similar to the toadfish, but it has a thinner shaped head -not broad and flat like the toadfish.

DNR Answer: This fish is in the blenny family. It looks like a striped or feather blenny. They are common around structure such as piers, pilings, rocks and oyster bars.
