Endured the heat for these beauties at Blue Heron Pond!
I made the hike to Blue Heron Pond during this heat wave mostly as a test of my endurance. I did have to rest once at the pond in the shade, but I always have plenty of ice cold water. Caught and released 10, the biggest one in the photos was within a hair of weighing in at 4 pounds, caught on a plastic worm. The others were caught on plastic worms also, and top water frogs and a shallow running crank bait. Although I consider this a successful trip, I wont make that hike again in such a heat wave.
