My name is Richard Cisneros from Alexandria VA went out Yesterday April 25 2011 to test out new rods at Fort Washington MD. I caught 7 snake heads which seemed to be really loving my deep diving herring Rapala swimmer. The largest out the 7 snake heads was about 8-10 pounds about 30 long the others were between 2-5 pounds a piece and ranged from 18-25 inches long. They were fun to catch but a little tricky to unhook. As you can see in the pictures I laid a 12 inch ruler to indicate the size of fish.
DNR RESPONSE: Thanks for helping us to lower the population size of this invasive species in Maryland. Drop us info on the catch with a picture that clearly shows the fish is dead every time you kill one, and youll get entered again fs for helping out the bass population and the Potomac River ecosystem!
