A Perch from the Pier

I was at a pier near my house, it never catches any fish but the conditions were nice and I decided to give it a try that night. At the 2015 Maryland seafood festival I won a fishing rod that I used that night. I casted it out in the shallower waters by another pier and right as my hook hit the water something grabbed it. I reeled it in and when I got it on the dock I saw that it was a 7 inch perch.
