86.35 lb. Blue Catfish!!

Here's the BIG male weighing in at 86.35 pounds caught this past Saturday January, 21, 2017 in a Catfish Mafia Tournament Series tournament out of Ft. Washington. He was caught at roughly 8:30 am on fresh cut gizzard shad.

The rod went down and stayed down so I knew he was a big one, so I reeled down a couple times and pulled the rod from the holder and it was on! He gave 4 massive head shakes and to my surprise swam straight towards the boat! When he breached about 10' from the boat my partner, Don, and I let out a "whoooa" when we saw how massive he was. We quickly realized he wasn't going to fit in the net!

Don grabbed the lip grippers and laid flat off the stern and in one swoop I swung him in head first and Don was able to lip him on the first try!

Don was able to pull him up over the side of the boat (although falling over and again). The hootn' and hollerin' began!! The fish of a lifetime!!

We won 1st place and big fish in the tournament to cap off an extraordinary day!! I just hope that's not the only monster of my young cat fishing career!
