Region: Southern
Location: Mattawoman Creek
I've been bass fishing mattwoman creek for couple years now but these past two years I have been catching a lot of snakeheads. I've cought all of mine all the way in the back of the creek past slavin's dock. Last year I caught 3 snakeheads in 1 week. I've caught them on craw dads, senkos, buzz baits, an cranks. They seem to like top water best an are in very shallow waters. They put up a good fight.
DNR RESPONSE: Thanks for helping us to lower the population size of this invasive species in Maryland. Drop us info on the catch with a picture that clearly shows the fish is dead every time you kill one, and youll get entered again fs for helping out the bass population and the Potomac River ecosystem!
