Walleye fishing on the upper Potomac has been excellent with fish readily taking jigs and crankbaits. Fishermen can expect walleye from 12" to 29" due to recent improvements in reproduction, but most of the fish are running between 14 - 18" . Flows are very low for this time of year and the water temperatures are more typical of April. As a reminder, there is a 15" minimum size for walleye with a 20" maximum size on the mainstem Potomac River from January 1 through April 15.
