I was casting from a pier in the mid Severn River this past Saturday, March 4, 2017 with very low expectations. Much to my surprise there were a ton of striped bass out there willing to eat. I caught over 20 striped bass all ranging from 22"-26.25". (DNR Note-The Severn River is open to Catch and Release Striped Bass fishing, and is NOT considered a spawning tributary.)
Another surprise catch was a lamprey that was attached to one of the 23 inchers I pulled in.
