Once again I found myself fishing the retention lakes in Waldorf. I continue to be amazed at the sheer quantity and quality of the fish in them. Over the past 3 days I have caught 23 Largemouth Bass after only putting in 2 hours a day fishing. They are really starting to move well and hitting worms as soon as they hit the water. I am frequently catching them in the shallows but also getting some suspended on the drop-offs around the lakes. Two representative photos show you exactly what you are missing if you arent taking advantage of these little honey holes. I have shared what I learned about these areas with several folks with children that were fishing and they started catching them right away. I highly encourage anyone that wants to experience bass fishing to head on out and give them a try. They are hungry and biting any color worm you throw at them right now. All are safely back in the lakes waiting for you to come and catch them.
