Fishing the head of the Elk River near the new Elkton boat launch, I was surprised to land this 12" white perch using a square bill crankbait on Sunday May 1, 2011 at 3:30 pm. This lunker white perch was next to shore in shallow water as the tide was receeding (water temperature 63 degrees). Caught a small 4" perch on a deep water crankbait about an hour earlier in about 10 feet of water.
