Location: the Pax. River run below the Rt.97 bridge
I went out for a few hours Sunday May 1 to soak some worms and relax a bit. I fished the Pax. river run below the Rt.97 bridge and the top of Tridelphia reservoir. First fish I caught was a sucker which I was a bit bummed about but it got better from there. All-in-all I caught 6 rainbows, 1 brown, 1 largemouth and a few neds and to my surprise I caught a whole bunch of 6 rockfish just about 50 yards below the 97 bridge! I have fished here since I was a kid and never expected to catch a rockfish in my trout stream! I know Tridelphia has been stocked with rockfish for years but this was still a surprise. All fish were released and yes I did have my WSSC permit for the day but I was bummed that the store in Sunshine no longer sells WSSC permits had to drive to Brighton Dam to purchase one.
