Jayden's First Catch for 2017
Type: Nontidal
Region: Central
Location: Liberty Reservoir

Water levels were so low that you could walk the bank and fish without getting your line hung up in the trees although, my first mate still finds a way to get hung up on something! I was very excited to get out for the first time this season. Working a jig on the points. What was my first catch of the season? A small Turtle. Yes, he hit the jig!

I spent the rest of the day catching smalls to find this nice 13” Crappie which made my day. I hope this is going to be my best season yet! I really was looking to hit a big smallmouth bass off of one of the points. This year the weather has been pretty inconsistent so far. My first mate is a fair weather fisherman and my transportation which makes it tough enough to get out there. After all, the only way to catch them is by having a bait in the water. I cannot wait for the fishing Rodeo!
