On Saturday 6/17, cloudy, morning skies and no wind proved to be perfect conditions, for topwater fishing, at Lake Allen, in Laurel. I caught 3 largemouth, on my first 4 casts, on a Pop-R, in open water. The biggest of those being 3.77 lbs. I decided to walk back to my vehicle and on the way saw a huge topwater explosion in a group of pads. I grabbed my heavy action rod, with a Scum Frog tied on and walked over to that group of pads. On my 2nd cast, this 5.03 lb largemouth hammered my frog. This was the largest, of 9 caught that day.
