On Saturday, June 3, the 2nd Annual Big Run Youth Trout Fishing Clinic was held at Big Run State Park in Garrett County. 34 young anglers attended the event where they learned the basic skills necessary to catch, un-hook, and handle trout. Groups of about 10 young anglers rotated between four stations full of information and 'hands-on' activities; Casting Lessons, How to Remove Hooks, Knot Tying 101, and What Trout Eat/Where Trout Live. In addition to the instruction received, everyone had a delicious grilled lunch and were given a gear pack to take home thanks to the sponsors for the event!
As you can see in the pictures, it was a beautiful day in a beautiful location with a great group of kids! Keep your eye out for the event next year if you think your daughters and/or sons would enjoy it!
