During the week of August 7-12, I fished a few places on Maryland's eastern shore. Despite the heavy rains, the fishing was excellent. The largemouth bass were biting on the Pocomoke River, and I had the most success casting texas rigged worms right into the base of the cypress trees. The bluegill and catfish were just as active as the bass. I also tried my luck at the Rt 50 bridge in Ocean City in between the frequent rains. The summer flounder-fluke and sea bass were biting squid strips fished on a basic bottom rig. Although I caught several, none were of legal size, so they got released immediately.
