Crappie From Gunpowder Falls Park

This is the fattest 11 inch crappie I have ever caught. It was caught using bullminnows at Gunpowder Falls State Park.

Is this a white or black crappie? My fishing app says white.

DNR Answer: Our biologists have confirmed that this is a black crappie. Black crappie are more common in MD when compared with whites.
