What are these fish?

Type: Nontidal
Region: Northern
Location: Loch Raven

I fished below the damns at Loch Raven yesterday, and caught two decent bass, and one huge one. She crushed a lizard like the world was about to end. Today I fished it again, and while I had no success, I saw some fish I had never seen before. They were quite long (At least two feet), very dark, long dorsal fin and looked like a snake when they swam. They had a mouth like some kind of sucker fish, and what looked like holes instead of gills. No idea what they were, and I cant find a picture of them on the DNR website.

DNR RESPONSE - Sea lampreys travel up the Gunpowder and build rock nests to spawn over each spring. Your detailed description and the time of year made it an easy identification.
