Bluegill and redear sunfish were very active the night of the 22nd and morning of the 23rd under the Route 40 bridge. Most of the river is low, but there are still some pools behind large rocks that are 4'+ deep. Using a 4wt 8ft rod I caught 10 fish with a pink San Juan worm pattern, along with many other bites. Fish would bite as soon as the worm was cast. The largest fish caught was around 7".
No trout or bass were spotted while in the area. The water was warm and moving at a steady pace. If you're looking for some fun and guaranteed catches, this area is a good one to pick. Others were there casting jigs rigged with squirmin' grubs and had little success.
