During this past weekend, the bass bite was really good at St. Mary's Lake. I was getting hit on a simple Ned Rig on light tackle. I found them in coves off the main lake. Some bass were very near the bank, but most were about 10 yards out, in 4-5 feet of water. I worked the rig very slowly, only moving it every 10 seconds or so. The fish would pick it up off the bottom and you'd see your line start to move off. I was using a Z-man watermelon/red flake TRD on a Z-man 1/6 oz Shroomz jig head, or a Z-man gold Slim Swimz. I finished the day on 24 February with this 3-pounder.
