Calvert County Fishing

I picked up my rod and went over to Kings Landing Park in Huntingtown (Calvert County) this past Monday and Tuesday just to see what I could catch. I caught six catfish (small channel catfish and brown bullheads) and about 4 white perch on night crawlers. The perch were caught on Tuesday. I fished the bait sitting on the bottom during slack tide. The river is rather muddy due to the rain over the past weeks so I had no luck casting artificial baits.

Rainbow trout (the put and take), are still around in ponds in Calvert County too, although they are showing signs of stress. It is best to keep them and not release, if they appear to be worn out from the fight.
