Pickerel Fishing

I had to get out of the house after yesterday�s snow day. So, I went over to St Mary�s Lake for some pickerel fishing. I caught seven chain pickerel. Their sizes were all over the board. The biggest being 22 plus inches. I caught all fish on a 1/4 oz swim bait in 3 foot of water over old grass and lily pads.

I waded off the bank and was fan casting, letting the swim bait settle to the bottom, lifting my rod tip and using a steady retrieve. I worked my way around the far west end of St Mary�s Lake.
