I opted to hit St Marys Lake again on Sunday, only having half a day to fish. I did pretty well. I fished from 8:00-12:30 until the weather turned cold and very windy, which changed my mind about staying on the lake longer.
I was fishing the main lake and coves on north side of the lake predominantly. I also fished the riprap of the spillway and dam too.
Lures used: swim bait (shad color), square bill (bluegill) hard bait and beetle spin with mister twister grub (white).
I caught fish in fallen timber, over riprap and over hydrilla in water depths from four foot to nine feet of water.
Water temps were 62/63 degrees.
I caught five bass that were feeding on baitfish. Osprey were taking fish and the bass were too. I was casting past the surface action and brought the swim bait on the outside edge. The weather ran me off, but the bass were still feeding as I rowed off... ugh!
Catch today:
