Glades Park Youth and Blind Pond - Violet's first trout!

Type: Nontidal
Region: Western
Location: Glades Park Youth and Blind Pond in Oakland

Violet Sisler ventured out to the Glades Park Youth and Blind Pond in Oakland to fish for rainbow trout for the very first time - and it ended in success! Using her Barbie rod and some rainbow-colored Powerbait, her mom helped her cast to the center of the pond. Violet noticed a bunch of bluegills close to shore, so we rigged up the Scooby-Doo rod with a piece of worm and a bobber. Immediately the bobber was under water, and she reeled in the first of many bluegills. While helping her unhook one of the sunfish, the Barbie rod was being pulled into the pond! Violet grabbed the fishing pole and started reeling in a much larger fish that really put up a good fight! Soon she landed a nice 12 inch rainbow trout! Pictured is Violet with her mom Rebecca and the nice trout and bluegills she caught.
