Thomas Point Striped Bass

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Central
Location: Thomas Point/Magothy

We were out on the 12th in the afternoon. We trolled tandem rigs and umbrella rigs (chartruese) off Thomas Point in about 45 feet of water. After about 10 minutes we had a hook up but lost it. Then 45 minutes later we hooked up this 37 inch beauty on a tandem rig.

A lot of boats were reporting little or no action but some had hooked up smaller fish in the 20 to 24 inch range off Bloody Point.

On the way back in we stopped to bottom fish for white perch at the mouth of the Magothy. We got into some fast action just off the channel edges and kept a good number of 8 to 9 inch fish. A great afternoon on the bay.
