My daughter, Jessica, and I spent a few hours on Broadford Lake on May 6th hoping to catch enough fish for a fish fry. Jessica showed me how to do it right, reeling in four big black crappies and a couple of good-sized yellow perch, while I only managed one perch and one crappie - and both were the smaller members of their school. We used fathead minnows fished under a slip bobber in about six feet of water. Even though we fished side by side - the fish preferred Jessica's presentation over mine.
