Some great Catoctin Mountain tributaries treated me well this past weekend. With all the recent flooding, not many creeks were fishable besides some small headwater streams, which were flowing a little high but still clear. The high water made sneaking up on these gorgeous fish that much easier, and also produced more fishable holes. I managed a couple on smaller nymphs drifted through the pools, they were hungry and normally if a pool yielded fish itd be within the first couple casts. Saw lots of reminants of an old sawmill in and on the side of the stream, miles away from any road, but at least the forest is coming back, and so are the brookies.
