Fishing Report - East Side Lower Bay

Location: East side across from St Jeromes to south of the Target Ships

I learned when we got in that one waterman found dead crabs in his pot, so water quality may have been an issue affecting fish presence. We saw a few small mackerel jump, but no bite. 4 anglers caught 9 small bluefish by trolling. We also jigged the targets ships but, no bite. The front half of the American Mariner has deteriorated badly over the past several years. We saw lots if silversides there. We chummed for cobia below the ships but again, no bite. The wind came up agaist the current (and against prediction) and seas went 2-3 with white caps. A lot of good effort by Capt Mike and CCA NOVA anglers and good Bay time but turned out not to be a good day for catching fish.
