I spent the last two days fishing Lake Lariat in Calvert County for largemouth bass. Ive never fished the lake so it was a new challenge, which is what actually draws me to fishing, the challenge of working new water and finding the pattern of the day.
I found fish using a whopper plopper in the back of coves in very shallow water and around fallen trees along the shoreline. I took five bass in lily pads on a weedless frog. I also took a few on wacky worm as well. The lake was fairly high due to the rain over the past few weeks and the water was clear. The fish I caught were relatively small, but I caught 46 fish over the two days of fishing so I really cant complain too much.
