Pond Fishing at Idylwild WMA

<p>I fished three of the ponds at the Idylwild Wildlife Management Area near Federalsburg on Monday , Dec 10 for pickerel. I caught five largemouth bass and three pickerel, the largest pickerel being 19 3/4”. </p> <p> I was using paddle tail swim baits and Mepps Spinners to catch the bass and pickerel. I actually had to wait for skim ice to melt to fish a few of the ponds. It was a cold day but wind was light.</p> <p> A note for safety, it is hunting season so be aware of hunters at the park, I wore an orange vest fishing the front three ponds.</p>
