Crappie Fishing

Type: Nontidal
Region: Southern
Location: Pond

My son-in-law and I took in some crappie fishing on Presidents Day at a pond in his subdivision. We were casting small jigs under a bobber, then slowly retrieving the bobber in two or three quick jerks. Letting the jig settle then counting to three or five, repeating the process over. The crappie would take the bait during the short wait between the quick jerks of the bait. Dale caught 18 crappie and I caught 12 fish. It was a fun day!
