Hickory Shad

I bought myself a DC fishing license today and headed to Fletcher�s Cove. Fishing the Potomac River I caught 19 Hickory Shad and one largemouth bass, all on small jig dressed with a white and chartreuse grub with a small gold spoon about a foot above the jig. Some fish were caught on the jig and some on the gold colored spoon. I did add a splitshot weight too, to get the light baits down into the water column where the fish were. I caught fish anywhere from two feet to ten foot below the surface. I caught all fish from the DC side of the river, off the bank.
