Bill Burton Pier Open During Daylight Hours

Type: Tidal
Region: Eastern
Location: Choptank River

After being closed for several months for the removal of aging overhead lighting due to safety concerns, both the Talbot County and Dorchester County piers at the Bill Burton Fishing Pier State Park have reopened. While public safety and security issues associated with the lack of adequate lighting prevent the piers from being accessed during nighttime hours, this popular fishing destination is once again available to anglers from 7:00 a.m. to sunset every day. Access for shoreline fishing on the Talbot County side of the park remains available from sunrise to sunset.

For more information on the Bill Burton Park fishing piers and adjacent shoreline access, please see this website and the pier and trail map which is posted online.
