Just wanted to thank all service members past and present and all of their families who support them. Without them we wouldn't be able to do the things we love. The are why this country is so awesome!
I was finally able to get out in the kayak for the first time this year. I saw a lot of boats out very early trying to beat the heat. I automatically headed towards the north end of Garrett Island. I saw some carp rolling, a couple bass jumping, and I finally hooked into a 14 1/2 inch yellow perch on an imitation blood worm. He put up a great fight and I'm sure he'll taste great also. About an hour later I hooked into a large catfish. I only got him up to the side of the kayak then my line broke before I could get my hands on him. I felt my heart sink a little, along with my lure still in his mouth. Here's the pic of my yellow perch.
