I fished St Marys Lake on Saturday, July 27, 2019. I was wanting to take a day on a flat smooth lake after fishing, before fishing the next day on a rolling Atlantic Ocean.
I caught 10 crappie, three pickerel, five bass and a yellow perch. All fish were caught on a 1/10oz Ned Rig with a blue/gray paddle tail. The crappie were at the dams concrete discharge intake. After vertical jigging and catching 10 I moved on. The Saturday bite was on. The other fish I caught were holding on structure in 6/8 foot of water.
The lake was at its normal summertime depth and very clear. Bigger fish can be taken if a spinner bait is cast around lay downs and other structures. Another great day of fishing.
