My grandson, Isaac, planned on spending a rainy day at our house today. In fact he baked a carrot cake once he got to the house, yum! But the rain never arrived here in Southern Maryland. So we each grabbed a fishing rod and we headed to Calvert Cliffs State Park for some snakehead fishing.
We walked back to the 1.2 mile marker and started to make casts into heavy cover of lily pads and arrowhead plants. It wasnt long and Isaac had his first snakehead hooked and, after a short fight, landed.
Another great day of fishing!
Isaac caught his fish on a small topwater ninja mouse tied directly to 30lbs braided line.
