First Spanish Mackerel Ever!

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Southern
Location: Thomas Point Shoal Light

My brother, Jason Czajkowski, and I, Eric Dickerson left the dock at Jones Creek at 6 am on 8/17/19 to pursue a bucket list fish - the Spanish mackerel. We headed south to Thomas Point Shoal Light and started trolling with number 1 and 2 planers with silver/green Clarks spoons about 8:30am. Within minutes we were hooked up with bluefish trolling south and soon caught a limit of rockfish all within the first two hours, even with many throw backs. We didnt get into the Spanish mackerel until the sun came out later that morning. The first ever Spanish mackerel I caught was a 23 citation fish !! I filled out the online citation form and waiting on the wall hanging citation!!

Eric received a FishMaryland certificate for this catch. Congratulations!
